Kyle Barrie

Kyle serves as Director of Geoscience at Chief Energy, where he leads the geology team in asset evaluation across all major U.S. basins. Kyle began his career in Calgary, Alberta with Talisman Energy as an Explorations Geologist before transferring to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2010 to help establish the company’s U.S. office and support a Marcellus Shale program.

He joined Chief Oil & Gas in 2013 as an Operations Geologist in the Marcellus and, over the next nine years, helped grow the operation to 1.1 Bcf/d, culminating in the company’s $3 billion sale to Chesapeake Energy in 2022. With nearly two decades of industry experience, Kyle brings deep technical expertise and leadership to the company’s geoscience efforts.

Kyle holds a degree in Geology from the University of Manitoba.
